MODERN NEUTRAL NURSERY.
When it comes to decorating your nursery, many are now opting for an inspirational but gender-neutral style. In order to nail this look, it’s best to avoid the old clichés. That means that pink, unicorns, and glitter or blue, dragons and race car items are out! Instead, I recommend going for something tasteful and stylish like grey or Scandinavian white. That way you can keep the childish charm but add in a touch of sophistication.
These shades work amazingly well as a base and can really accentuate other tones to make them pop. By adding black and white bedding and accessories, for example, you can instantly give a white nursery an added touch of atmosphere and personality. For a bright and cheerful touch, choose a mustard yellow or go green for more warmth and freshness.
As a general rule, the gender-neutral palette is best complemented with splashes of natural color. Think earthy tones, grey, white and black. I can’t stress enough – this doesn’t have to mean boring! With the right balance, it can be the perfect base to compliment a space with natural wooden toys, cute pillows, and modern artwork. It’s even been shown that high-contrast patterns can enhance vision and stimulate brain development in babies!
It's no secret around here that I’m a fan of a good black and white item. Whether that's our own products like a sweet little baby onesie, cute pillows or monochrome baby bedding I just can't get enough of the timeless black and white color scheme.
This gorgeous room was designed by Brianna Sheehan from Brianna Michelle Interior Design. I love all the gender-neutral choices and of course, the fact that she chose Emma’s Story grid bedding made me very happy!
